麒麟Unicorn、祥瑞之獸。
在唐堯虞舜的時候,人人常見一些吉祥的鳥獸。麒麟和鳳凰那時就是常常到這個世界上來遊。
世間具有道德,聖人治世,天下太平。
The unicorn is an auspicious animal.
In China, during the time of the benevolent Emperor T’ang Ti Yao (2356 B.C.),
there were many phoenixes and unicorns, and they were often seen.
The world have the proper virtue, the Sage administer the world, all is at peace.


東靈、東方靈氣,浩然正氣。
DonG, East. LinG, efficacious. DonGLinG, a clean and proper virtue in the heavens and the earth.

孔子〈獲麟歌〉上:
Confucius wrote,

唐虞世兮麟鳳遊,
今非其時來何求?
麟兮麟兮吾心憂!
In the time of Emperor T’ang Yao the unicorn and phoenix abounded.
That time, however, is not the present, so what have you come to seek?
Unicorn! Unicorn! How my heart grieves…


我們再看看宣化上人的淺譯:
with commentaries of the Venerable Master Hsuan Hua:

『「唐虞世兮麟鳳遊」,說在唐堯虞舜的時候,麒麟和鳳凰常常到這個世界上來遊,人人都看得見。「今非其時來何求?」現在不是唐虞那個時候,你來幹什麼呢?你來有什麼所求呢?「麟兮麟兮吾心憂!」孔子說:「麒麟哪!麒麟哪!我心裏呀,真為你很憂愁的。」
“During the time of Emperor T’ang Yao, unicorns and phoenixes often came into the world to roam around; everyone saw them. But that time is not now, so what have you come to seek?” he said.

這是因為在那時候,孔子見著打獵的人,打著一隻麒麟。他一看,他認識這隻麒麟。因為孔子出生的時候,「麟吐玉書」,有一隻麒麟來吐玉書,吐這個字,那麼孔子的母親,就把一條繩拴到這個麒麟脖子上。等孔子看見打獵的人所打住的這個麒麟,一看!他媽媽繫的這條繩子,還在這個麒麟脖子上繫著。所以,他知道這個麒麟被打獵人打住了,給打來了。孔子知道自己也不久就要圓寂了,所以他很傷歎的,才說這麼幾句話,說:「唐虞世兮麟鳳遊,今非其時來何求?麟兮麟兮吾心憂!」
When the Sage Confucius was born, a unicorn appeared. When his mother saw it, she tied a string around its neck. Near the end of Confucius’ live, some hunters killed a unicorn. When Confucius saw it, he noticed that it had the string around its neck; it was the same unicorn. Seeing this sign, he sighed deeply, for he knew that it would not be long before he died. “Unicorn! 從以上孔子的話語與宣化上人的淺譯得知,唐虞的時候因爲道德的聖人治世,所以人們經常可以看見一些吉祥的鳥獸。那麼以後,因為眾生的業報重了、罪業深重了,所以這一些吉祥的鳥獸也都不出現了。你看,這種情形不是一些貪求名利、對古文似懂非懂、帶有俠義心腸的學者專家所能明了的。所以註解白話古文典籍的學者專家定要先求真,尤忌以自己狹義的心註解古人宏廣的智慧道德,否則必使人認假爲真,挺多只在皮毛轉,不能深解其義。

上邊這個麒麟,不是專屬中華的,您看當年釋迦牟尼佛教化的時候,文殊師利菩薩的誕生就出現十種吉祥事情來,其中之一就是馬生麒麟,當然平常的時候都不是馬來生麒麟,這祥瑞是表大智文殊師利法王子菩薩的十度波羅蜜之一。所以也不是東方專有,也不是西方專有,只要真有道德的聖人治世,就有望見到這些吉祥鳥獸。那麼這個道德也是一樣的,不是東方專有,亦非西方專有,非南方、非北方、非上方、非下方,道德本在天地間,只是人們自己不去學習。

道德雖在天地間,不過以當今所有資料來看,中華具有優越的道德、智慧、文化流傳,可是卻搖搖欲墜。身爲中華民族應該推廣、永續使用正體字(俗稱繁體字),這本來就是中華正統的文字、中國正統的文字,並讓學子好好學習古文,看懂中華智慧結晶的文化寶藏,方能延續推廣中華文化智慧道德;否則就是摧毀中華文化智慧道德的歷史罪人,不但挽不了世界道德,更讓中華文化成爲軀殼,使後代不只活在地獄式的污穢環境中,心靈也只能永續黑暗。詳閱正體漢字Lineal Chinese characters
China has the superior morals, the wisdom, the culture spreads, but to be faced with quench, like teeter. As the Chinese nation (sure include foreign citizen of Chinese origin) and who interest in Chinese should promote sustainable, continue forever use of the Lineal Chinese word(commonly known as traditional character), which is originally Chinese orthodox text, the orthodox China text, and to allow the scholar study well the classical Chinese literature, to authentically understand the Chinese cultural treasures of the wisdom in order to promote continuity Chinese Culture, Moral and Wisdom; Otherwise is the historical criminal which destroys the Chinese culture wisdom morals, not only could not pull the world morals, besides let the Chinese culture article turn into to a shell, like a dummy, so that future generations not only live in the hell of filthy environment, the only sustainable spiritual darkness. to read Lineal Chinese characters

有道德,方有靈氣。東方道德、東方靈氣,普願天下充滿浩然正氣。

附印光大師開示:

世亂極矣,不堪言說。推究其由,其近因由百十年來,一切讀書居官之人,只知習舉業,求功名,不知提倡因果報應,及家庭教育。若論遠因,實由程、朱破斥因果報應,及生死輪迴之所致也。以素未受家庭之善教,并不知人之所以為人,又習聞一死即滅,了無前生後世。一遇歐風所吹,覺此廢孝廢倫不恥,為自在無礙,遂一致進行。其根本誤人,不能不歸罪於理學諸子也。光之此語,乃的確之極,平允之至,非妄說也。為今之計,當認真提倡因果報應,生死輪迴及家庭教育。而家庭教育,尤須注重因果報應。此二法互相維持,方能令後之子弟,不致悉數入彼獸域。否則,縱有教育,亦難制彼不隨邪轉也。(續編復宋六湛、褚蓮淨、張子淨三居士書)

人與天地並稱三才,非徒然也,必有參贊化育之功,方可不愧。否則,行肉走尸,畢生汙穢天地,何可云三才乎。能體此意,以教童蒙,必能盡心竭力,因材施教。先以道德為本,次及文藝之末。孝、悌、忠、信、禮、義、廉、恥,常時講談,令彼知為人之道。居心動念,作事吐語,俾各淳善,便可為入聖之基。易曰:「蒙以養正,聖功也」,其此之謂乎。果能以此心教人,則自己學品日進於光明,人將感而化之,不待督責,以期相從也。「天下不治,匹夫有責」。今日之國亂民困,同室操戈,競欲相戕,民不聊生者,皆家庭父母無善教,學校之先生無善教。致有天姿者,習成妄為,無天姿者,甘為匪頑。汝能秉正本清源之心,以行培植人才之事,即是不據位而行政,不升座而說法矣,何樂如之。(續編復卓智立書)

昔有某居士問我以挽回劫運之方。余曰‧此甚易事‧在明因果之理‧而篤行之耳。能發信心‧必有善果。且私偽之心既消‧心中光明正大‧任何災難‧皆冰雪消融矣。洪楊之役‧江西木商袁恭宏‧被匪所獲‧縛于客廳柱上‧門上加鎖‧俟時而殺之。袁自意必死‧以默念觀音聖號。良久入睡‧醒而身在野地‧仰首見星辰‧遂得逃脫。此是一確例。

以是‧甚望大家大發信心‧秉乾為大父‧坤為大母之德‧存民吾同胞‧物吾同與之仁‧凡在天地間者‧皆愛憐之‧護育之‧視之如己。更能以因果報應‧念佛求生西方之道勸化之。倘盡人能實行此‧則國不期護而自護‧災不期息而自息矣。
